07.09.02 We
have had our first look at the exhibition and are quite pleased with how its
turned out. There are a few things we would change and there are a few bits
and pieces to get finished but on the whole its turned out well. The exhibition
is a work in progress so it will change over the coming two months as more
news and sightings are gathered.
It was quite an odd experience
visting the exhibition. - The exhibition is at the top of a tall tower which
overlooks the whole of Glasgow. On the day we
went to visit there was a violent storm. We are sitting up there working at
our desk with Brahms blaring out the radio while on all sides Thunder, Lightning
and torrential rain lash down.
05.09.02 First feedback about the exhibition has been
good. Apparently its not quite what people were expecting. The Lighthouse
say "fantastic and very funny." which is nice.
02.09.02 So
the mpf exhibition opens in the Lighthouse. Many thanks to John Argent and
co who set it all up for us. Please go along to the Lighthouse museum Glasgow
in Mitchell Lane (just off Buchanan St. and let us know what you think. Exhibition
ends 03.11.02
10.08.02 The winner of THe Great Glasgow Treasure Hunt
is chosen from a hat. The winner (a girl called Suzy) has chosen to have a
holiday. We are now investigating £50 holidays.
www.scottisharchitecture.com/trail
28.07.02 The website gets a little. (very little) bit of an update.
26.07.02 Please have patience with us while we transfer all the news and sightings onto the correct pages.
25.07.02 Web
site verison 1 goes online. The first 50 mpf books are having their leaving
party next month and after that we will update the progress page. Promise.
13.07.02 Progress page is created.
21.06.02 The Great Glasgow Treasure Trail begins.
12.05.02 We finally
get the hang of it. We love Dreamweaver3.
02.05.02 We curse Dreamweaver3.
01.05.02
We begin to teach ourselves how to use Dreamweaver3.
30.04.02
We are forwarded a letter from Stephen fry in which he talks about our project.
29.04.02 We propose
to orginise a mystery treasure trail around Glasgow as part of National Architecture
week. The Lighthouse think this a wonderful idea and comission us to orginise
it.
22.04.02 Our story forms part of a report for Glasgow University Student television.
10.04.02 A plan
is made with the Lighthouse. They agree to pay us the development grant as
well as the prize money. With this we will produce a web site charting the
journeys of the books and also create a physical exhibition to be placed somewhere
inside the Lighthouse.
08.04.02 We recieve an email from the wonderful Geoff Duncan of www.PlanetLanguages.com who agrees to translating the mpf book text into 8 langauges for free.
01.04.02 Celebrate
winning competition by hiding pound notes in Library books around Glasgow.
With a little card attached that says buy something nice.
28.03.02 News appears to be spreading about us and we appear in the local newspapers.
25.03.02 The mpf's
first birthday. It turns out to be a double celebration as we also win the
Pigeon
Hole City Competition.
24.03.02 We return to Glasgow after an eventful week involving border control, James Bond film sets, goldfish and a fat man called Bubba. We appear in the paper for the first time in an article in the Sunday Herald.
19.03.02
While in Brno we check our emails in a greasy internet cafe. We are contacted
by
Uri Geller. Apparently he is "indirectly involved in this project."
We are not sure how. But welcome his interest.
16.03.02 Early in the morning we pack our bags
and set off for a weeks well earned rest at a friends house in the Czech Republic.
15.03.02 We do an all nighter to get the presentation
finished for the competition. Bleary eyed and having had no sleep we down
tools and go to our real jobs. Later in the day we try to hand in the presentation.
When we reach the Lighthouse we realise we have a problem. How do we keep
our anonymity and still hand in the presnetation. While pondering this we
hear a voice.
"Excuse me. Would you like to buy
one of my CD's?"
We have been approached by a Hare Krishna. (His name is Cheru and he can be
found on Buchanan Street) Our responce is simple, we will buy one of his CD's
if he will do us a little favour. He agrees and takes our presentation and
hands it in for us to a very confused Lighthouse staff.
01.03.02 First official mpf book created.
15.10.01 Hear about competition.
25.03.01 The first book is started in Glasgow.
